10 years ago many southern Palm Beach county and Broward county, Florida residents were exploring the Northern Palm Beach county areas of Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, and Tequesta. This area also attracted 2nd home buyers and retirees who found it beautiful and affordable with a laid back, activity driven life style. It was less congested, home prices were more affordable, and it still had many of the amenities offered in the southern regions like recreation, shopping, dining and beaches. But times have changed and home buyers are considering options even farther north. The driving factor is home prices. As the real estate market has rebounded prices in Northern Palm Beach county have sky rocked to a price point that is prohibitive for young families and retirees alike. As Palm Beach county has been in a push to attract new companies and jobs it lacks a supply of moderately priced homes as demand is high. Many of the new transplants are being forced to look north and St. Lucie county has the inventory of homes, the Florida lifestyle, and amenities they are looking. For example a new construction single family home in north Palm Beach County averages at the $500,000 mark and a 30 mile drive north to St Lucie brings that price point down into the $300,000's. Statistics are similar for used homes and town homes. Its about getting more for your money without giving up beautiful beaches, world class golf, tennis centers, and even spring training baseball!

But do not wait too long to explore St. Lucie county. The builders are recognizing the opportunities and new construction projects are popping up and selling out. Stats released reflecting home sales for early 2015 show that home prices in St. Lucie county are up 23% from last year with the average home selling in just 36 days. Sellers are getting 94% their asking price which shows strong pricing and buyer interest. If you have interest in seeing what St. Lucie county now has to offer please contact us for information on homes and new construction.
